“Dance It Out”Linda stood in the kitchen, tears welling in her eyes for no reason she could explain. The kind of heavy feeling that creeps in quietly. She stared out the window until her daughter hit play on the speaker. “Come on, Mama. Dance it out.” Linda tried to protest—half-laughing, half-sniffling—but a funky beat filled the room. Tiny hands tugged her toward the center. Barefoot and pajama-clad, they began to sway. Then spin. Then shimmy. One ridiculous robot move later, Linda burst into laughter. The sadness didn’t disappear completely. But it loosened its grip. Every goofy twirl chipped a little more off. Her daughter beamed, arms flailing like a tiny windmill. | ![]() Dance It Out Linda realized it then: joy isn’t the opposite of sadness. Sometimes, they show up together... and dance. And when they do? You dance right back When was the last time you “Danced It out”? Share it in SKOOL or other Social media |

“Honey, Hurry Back!”... (Continued from issue 29)
It wasn’t Braxton Hicks this time. This pain was very different.
I had been experiencing this pain in my front for a few days now.
When we went to our Lamaze classes the instructor told me that it was “just Braxton Hicks” and not to worry about it.
In our Lamaze classes, they said that the woman’s body knows what it is supposed to do to give birth to the baby.
They said you will feel some sort of cramping pains that will come and go.
That would be the start of labor pains.
To determine how much time you have before rushing to the hospital, keep track of the time between the start of each of those pains.
What am I up to now? Let’s see…
Keep stress levels low because I am pregnant but…
First, I had the morning sickness which was stressful.
Second, there was all the talk of the world coming to an end due to Y2K.
Third, I was bleeding vaginally.
Fourth, MS made me a paraplegic.
Fifth, my heart rate went above 200 beats per minute.
Sixth, my husband had to be called back to the hospital because the doctors wanted to STOP MY HEART!!!!!
Seventh, my baby could die so we could save my life!
Eighth, why am I still in the hospital?
Ninth, complications for the baby just to do a test?
Tenth, waiting for the results from that radioactive isotope test!
Eleventh, what’s in the bag?
Twelfth, Oranges and needles?
Thirteenth, Do I have diabetes too?
Fourteenth, MS confirmed?
Fifteen, MS confirmed!!! How?
Sixteen, Call Mom to help?
Seventeen, How’s the baby doing?
Eighteen, What’s this pain I keep feeling?
Nineteen, Was I kicked by a horse?
Twenty, What’s next?
Twenty-One, Can I get an epidural?
Twenty-Two, What is this pain?
Twenty-Three, What does labor feel like?
My husband just left with our 2 dogs on their extra-long nightly walk when I felt this strange pain.
This pain was not in my stomach area.
This pain was as if someone was running a spike up and down my spinal cord.
I was at 37 weeks of pregnancy, one of the items on my to-do list was to pack my suitcase to bring to the hospital.
I took a seat in my kitchen, waiting for my husband to return from the nightly dog walk, when suddenly my pants were soaking wet.
Why am I wet?
Back to that in the next newsletter…
